About Our Founder
Dr. Alvin May
General Surgeon, Wound Care Physician, Medical Director
Dr. Alvin S. May is a Harvard-trained general surgeon and wound care physician with over 20 years of experience serving patients across Southern California. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his General Surgery residency at Boston Medical Center in 2006.
In 2012, Dr. May helped launch a national physician-led wound care company that expanded specialized wound services to nursing homes and long-term care facilities nationwide. He is also the author of Heal Your Wound, a book focused on educating patients and caregivers about wound healing. In 2022, he founded WoundWell, where he serves as Medical Director, leading a mobile care model dedicated to delivering timely, high-quality wound care.
